why we do the big sale

let's talk about sales for a second.

if we sold our products at sale prices year round, we'd... be in big trouble. like out of business, fast.

our pricing isn't arbitrary. it exists to support the whole thing: from wages & benefits, to ingredients, to shipping labels & materials, to rent & utilities, to printer ink, to sharpies & tape (kitchen folk know!), to vendor fees, licenses, insurance, and on and on and on.

so no, you won't find us running sales too often.

but once a year in may, we like to run THE BIG SALE. thoughtfully. intentionally. and here's exactly why.

1. as a genuine thank-you to our existing customers

you are the reason we exist. we have a repeat customer rate of 75% when the industry average is closer to 30%. we don't take that lightly. our regulars, the people who come back bag after bag, season after season, are the reason this whole thing works. the sale is our way of saying THAAANK you in something more than words: a chance to stock up on your favorites, or finally take a risk on something new!

2. to welcome new people in

a lot of you sit sweetly on the "maybe someday!" fence.

we see you. we love you. and sometimes sales are that little nudge that turns a "maybe" into a "today's the day!!" 

if you've been curious about us but haven't pulled the trigger yet, this moment is MADE for you.

3. the freezer stash opportunity (yes, really)

okay, i said two reasons but i thought of a third (and a fourth) so bear with me:

they freeze and unfreeze beautifully.

if you've never thought of marshmallows as a freezer staple, let this be your awakening. stock up now, before it gets HOTHOTHOT and summer shipping gets a little more tenuous for these delicate beauties. your future s'mores self will thank you.

4. we're about to reintroduce PEANUTS into the space for the summer (this is the last one i promise!)

one of our summer flavor staples is a peanut butter marshmallow. most of the year our space is nut-free, and we're extremely diligent about food safety, but if you've got an allergy and would rather order from a peanut free kitchen, now's the time. we'll be peanut-free again in september!!
